At Young Star Driving School
We offer an accident/collision prevention training program to train drivers who want to be safe on the roads. Our graduates have a proven track record of avoiding severe accidents. The program complements the Beginner Driver Education course, highly recommended for youth safety. It exposes drivers to the complexities of driving, including challenges and distractions new drivers may face. Safe driving habits are crucial for their safety once licensed.
According to the Canadian Motor Vehicle Traffic Collision Statistics (Transport Canada’s National Collision Database 1997 – 2016), over 130 thousand collisions occur annually in Canada, involving fatalities or personal injuries. The risk of collisions exists for everyone, including seasoned drivers, highlighting the importance of formal education in accident avoidance.
Graduates of our program learn critical skills like crash avoidance, emergency stopping, and safe lane changing. We use real-life and virtual reality scenarios for students to practice making prompt decisions in simulated accidents. The training covers head-on collision avoidance, vehicle control in emergencies, and response strategies for unexpected situations like animals or cyclists on the road, drifting onto gravel shoulders, and minimizing impact in rear-end accidents.
The course requires a G2 or G driver license for enrollment and is also recommended for experienced drivers, particularly those who drive for a living. The accident and collision impact avoidance program imparts skills for maintaining safety and defensive driving throughout their driving careers.
